About the Owner

Kat2My name is Kathleen Fitzsimmons, known to most as Kat. The name fits considering many think of me as a cat whisperer! I have always loved animals and was constantly trying to bring home strays as a child. I have a Master’s degree in Business but after working in the corporate world for many years, I found myself yearning for something more. In 2009, I opened Pampered Petz to follow my true passion, working with animals! I get so much joy taking care of animals every day and feeling truly appreciated by my clients….your fur babies! My husband, Hans, and I live in Pottstown with our son, cats Teddy and Chloe, and our dog, Bella. Hans left his job in 2011 to work for Pampered Petz full-time and has never looked back. He has experience with a variety of animals from cats and dogs to ferrets and loves being able to be outside everyday.

Gwen

Hi, My name is Gwen and we have a working farm outside Spring City. We have sheep, horses, and chickens on our farm and, of course, our dogs and cats! When my children lived at home, they knew to come to me if they wanted to have a new pet because it was hard for me to say no to providing a home for an animal. Besides the “normal” family pets, we have had llamas and pet rats. Pet rats are some of the most intelligent and affectionate pets for older children! Our daughter used to set up obstacle courses for them and it was so fun to watch the these furry creatures maneuver with such ease from one end to the other to reach their treat! Nowadays I take care of the sheep the horses and the chickens. My sheep are Heritage Finnish Sheep known for their fleeces and gentle disposition. We have broody hens sitting their eggs, and of course our thee dogs, Kodik our Komondor mix 150 pound livestock guard dog, German Shepherd rescue Fritz, and Buddy who we discovered after rescuing him, is an American Dingo. We have three cats… Two are rescue sister barn cats, Marmalade (Marmie) and Minerva (Mini). And lastly but certainly not least, our indoor rescue torti, Pi. Everyone on the farm gets along great with one another! It’s a wonderful life! I’ve always enjoyed being around all types of animals and I love my job with Pampered Petz! It  gives me an opportunity to meet local people and love and care for their animals!

Joy

Joy

Hello there! I’m Joy. Besides being a dedicated pet lover, I am also a dance teacher; I’ve been dancing for 20 years! The only thing I love more than dance is my fur family! I have two one-eyed ShiTzus, one from a local pet store and the other a rescue from the SPCA. Along with my pirate pups, I also share my home with an indoor/outdoor cat and a beautiful beardie. Unfortunately, there’s not enough room for any more pets in my apartment… Luckily, I’ve found a fantastic job that gives me the chance to make so many new fun, furry friends! Each new visit is such a blessing!

Hello! My name is Liz and I live in Trappe with my husband and 3 school-aged kids. I’ve always had animals in my life and I can’t imagine being without them. I’m originally from Chicago but moved to the Philadelphia area back in 2004. I have two 15 year old kitties, Loki and Ches, which my husband and I adopted from a no-kill shelter just after we got married. We also have a tank full of fresh water fish and a 2 year old bearded dragon. I know how precious these creatures are to me and I will care for your furry and non-furry loved ones as if they are my own. I know you’ll miss your pets when you’re not home, so I’m always happy to send text and email updates and photos while you are away.

Robin

Robin

Hello, my name Robin and I live in Limerick with my husband and son. We currently have two rescues, an American bulldog and a Pitbull. Rescue has been a part of my life since our family’s first rescue dog when I was a little girl. I can not resist any animal in need and have made many trips to local wildlife rescues with all kinds of critters. When my son was born I was blessed to be able to stay home with him and our pets. But before then I had used the service of a pet sitter and remember how it felt to leave them in the hands of someone who was not me. So, now I am thrilled to be able to love on your pets while you are away from home. I am not you but I hope to be a bright spot in their day!

Kim

Kim

Hello everyone! My name is Kim and I live in Phoenixville. Like every staff member of Pampered Petz, I absolutely adore all animals! Throughout my life, my pets weren’t just pets, they were and are the animals that brought me joy, comfort and respect for all living creatures. Most importantly, I learned the responsibility and dedication it takes to properly care for and nuture an animal’s physical and emotional needs. I love to nurture animals, and they nurture me! I never had the chance to have children, so animals played a big part in my life. Presently, I live with an ornery but well loved cat that I rescued. She (Tilly) was extremely timid and scared of all human contact. Today, she can usually be found on my lap or cuddling with me on the couch. Besides my cat, I have had hamsters, a guinea pig, a rabbit and have raised two wonderful dogs who have sadly passed after a full life of love and adoration. Furthermore, I am passionate about horses and have ridden and cared for any horse I could. Today I continue that passion for horses and all animals in general. I am very excited to meet all of my clients and care for, play with and provide love for your fur babies as if they were my own. I thank you for this opportunity to share in the joy that your pet gives to you and everyone they encounter in their life.

Lori

Lori

Hi! My name is Lori. I have been an animal lover since I was a little girl. My family and I had 4 dogs and 4 cats when I was growing up. They were just a part of our family, and I guess that is just how I feel what a family should be now as an adult. 🙂 I currently have 2 dogs and 3 cats in my own family, along with 2 two-legged daughters who adore animals as well. Before I had a family of my own, I spent time in New York City where I worked; I spent much of my free time as a volunteer for the A.S.P.C.A which just happened to be a few blocks from my apartment. Once I moved back to Chester County, I spent several years volunteering atthe Chester County SPCA, where I socialized the dogs (and cats and bunnies and whatever was there!). Ialso volunteered weekly with another individual in taking pictures and updating the Petfinder website for the CCSPCA animals. I am a big fan of rescue animals, and I have a lot of patience with dogs who might need a little extra TLC in adjusting to life outside of a shelter or to a new home. 🙂 I also cared for my diabetic cat for several years, so I have experience in giving insulin shots and checking blood sugar in animals. Over theyears, I have also adopted a bunny and a ferret, so I have lots of experience with other furry friends! I look forward to meeting you and taking care of your pets while you are away!
